The end of support for Windows 10 is approaching. This is how we save the operating system of your computer or laptop:
# Upgrade to Windows 11 or
# Security patch for Windows 10 or
# Switch to Linux Mint
These are the pros and cons of the different solutions:
# Upgrade to Windows 11:
Advantages: Permanently secure. Your settings, software and data are retained. Also works with tricks on many older devices.
Disadvantages: Doesn’t work with everyone and not with very old hardware.
# Security patch for Windows 10:
Advantages: Secure until December 2030 Your settings, software and data are retained. Everything continues to run as before.
Disadvantages: Insecure from January 2031. No extension possible.
# Switch to Linux Mint:
Advantages: Permanently secure. Your data is retained. LibreOffice, the Firefox browser and the Thunderbird mail software are also installed.
Disadvantages: Windows software does not run under Linux.
