Upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 11 without reinstalling

Last year, we published a step-by-step guide explaining how you can create a Windows 11 Ultra Stick yourself, which allows you to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 even on older hardware without reinstalling. You can find these instructions linked HERE.

Such a stick reduces the hardware requirements for a new installation of Windows 11 as well as for an upgrade to three points:

# 4 GB RAM

# SSD with 40 GB free storage space (no HDD)

# Internet access

As a rule, the upgrade runs smoothly and Windows 11 is activated automatically on devices previously running Windows 10 because the operating system reads the Windows 10 licence from the BIOS of the computer or laptop and activates Windows 11 immediately as soon as Internet access is available. However, more and more users are now reporting problems with activation.

These problems occur if you have already switched from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 to Windows 10 and have activated Windows 10 with a licence for these older Windows versions. Windows 10 licences also activate Windows 11 – but not old licence keys for Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.

If the product activation of Windows 11 is rejected after the upgrade, please click HERE to purchase the appropriate licence key for little money.
